Home Made Brownie Mix

There's no need to buy the chemical laden mixes at the market when you can easily make your own at home.

Equipment

  • 9x9 inch baking pan

Ingredients
  

For the dry mix:

  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 6 cups sugar
  • 2 cups unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp baking powder

To Make Brownies:

  • cups dry brownie mix
  • 1 stick melted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla

Optional Add In's:

  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup peanut butter chips
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips
  • 1 cup walnuts, roughly chopped
  • 1 cup pecans, roughly chopped
  • 1 cup almonds, roughly chopped
  • 1 cup peanuts

Instructions
 

To Make the brownie mix:

  • To a large mixing bowl add flour, sugar, cocoa powder, salt and baking powder.
  • Stir to combine all the ingredients.
  • Transfer to an air tight container and store in a cool dark location.

To Bake Brownies:

  • Preheat oven to 350℉.
  • Grease a 9x9 inch pan. Set aside.
  • Place 2¼ cups of the brownie mix in a mixing bowl.
  • Add vanilla, melted butter, and eggs to the bowl.
  • Stir together with a wooden spoon to combine.
  • Stir in any add-ins, just to combine.
  • Spread the batter into prepared pan.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean. Keep a close eye and try not to over bake.
  • Remove from oven and allow to cool for 10-15 minutes before cutting into squares.

Notes

Helpful Hint:  Tape the instructions for how to bake the brownies to the container where you will be storing your dry mix.
