Mediterranean Meatball Gyros

Ground Beef, fresh parsley and cumin are formed into meatballs and served on our favorite flatbreads. Top with chopped veggies and tzatziki sauce for a delightful Mediterranean meal.

Equipment

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • ¼ cup bread crumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 4 flatbreads, such as Pita or Naan

Toppings:

  • chopped tomato
  • arugula
  • red onion, sliced
  • Tzatziki sauce
  • Hummus, optional
  • Feta cheese, crumbled

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400°F.
  • Place ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, parsley, minced garlic, water, cumin, salt and pepper in a mixing bowl.
  • Use your hands to combine all the ingredients together.
  • Shape meat mixture into 16 meatballs.
  • Place meatballs on a broiler pan.
  • Bake for 30 minutes.
  • Serve meatballs on flatbread with Tzatziki sauce, chopped tomatoes, arugula, crumbled Feta cheese, and sliced red onion.
