Sausage Meatballs

This delightful recipe has been on the back of Bisquick boxes for years. Savory bites with a little spicy kick are utterly irresistible and always a fan favorite at any party!

- 1 lb spicy pork breakfast sausage
- 2 cups Bisquick baking mix
- 4 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- ½ cup milk
- ½ tsp freshly chopped herbs; parsley, thyme, or chives, optional
Preheat oven to 350℉.
Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper or foil. If using foil, coat it with non-stick cooking spray. Set aside while you make the meatballs.
Gather together ingredients.
Place sausage, cheddar cheese, Bisquick, milk and freshly chopped herbs (if using them) in the bowl of a stand mixer using the paddle attachment.
Blend ingredients together on low speed until everything is combined. Mixture will be crumbly.
Using a cookie scoop form mixture into evenly sized balls, gently pressing mixture together with your hands to form the meatballs.
Place meatballs on a cookie sheet about ½ an inch apart on prepared cookie sheet.
Bake meatballs for 30-35 minutes, until cooked through.
Serve hot.
NOTE: If you live in an area where you can't get your hands on a box of Bisquick, you can easily make your own for this recipe in just a few minutes. Combine 2 cups flour with, 3 teaspoons baking powder, ½ teaspoon salt, with 2 tablespoons cold butter. Mix together with your fingers, working the butter into the dry ingredients using your fingers. Mixture will be crumbly.
