The Best Banana Nut Bread

This quick and easy one bowl method produces one of the best loaves of banana bread you will ever bake up.

  • 9x5" loaf pan

Ingredients
  

  • 3 very ripe bananas, peeled
  • cup butter, melted
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp salt
  • cups flour
  • 1 cup pecans, roughly chopped
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350℉.
  • Generously grease and flour loaf pan and set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, mash bananas.
  • Add the melted butter, beaten egg, and sugar. Stir to combine.
  • Add baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and salt. Stir to combine.
  • Add flour to the bowl and stir to combine.
  • Stir in pecans (reserving about a ¼ cup for topping).
  • Add chocolate chips, and stir to combine.
  • Pour batter into prepared loaf pan.
  • Top with reserved chopped pecans.
  • Bake loaf for 55-65 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle of the loaf comes out clean.
  • Remove from the oven and cool in the loaf pan for 15 minutes.
  • Remove loaf from pan and allow it to cool completely on a wire rack.
