Place chicken breast meat and thigh pieces in the bowl of a food processor.

Process until you have a ground chicken meat mixture.

Add 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon paprika, and 1 teaspoon black pepper to the ground chicken and mix together.

Wet hands with water and form meat mixture into patties.

Place patties in the freezer for 30-45 minutes.

Place 2 cups flour and 1 tablespoon cornstarch in a large bowl.

Stir to combine.

Coat each patty with the flour/cornstarch mixture, shaking off the excess.

Add 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon paprika, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon black pepper to the flour/cornstarch mixture.

Whisk in cold club soda until there are no lumps and you have a thin batter.

Heat about an inch of oil in a skillet over medium heat.

Dip each chicken patty in the batter and then fry in a skillet in hot oil until cooked through and golden brown on both sides.

Cook patties till they are a light golden brown, to an internal temperature of 165℉. About 4-5 minutes per side.

Use a spatula and transfer cooked patties onto a wire rack to drain while you cook up the remaining patties.

Helpful TIP: Make thinner patties rather than thicker ones. Batter will begin to burn before the chicken cooks all the way through if the patties are too thick.

Spread mayonnaise on both sides of toasted brioche hamburger buns.

Top with a chicken patty, lettuce and a slice of cheese to serve. The cheese is optional. I don’t think the McDonald’s version has cheese, but we are cheese loving fools around here and we can’t imagine a chicken sandwich without cheese.

Serve up these tasty burgers with a side of The Crispiest Air Fryer Tater Tots to round out the meal. Kiss soggy, mushy, limp Tater Tots goodbye. Learn how easy it is to air fry crispy on the outside, steamy soft on the inside, Tater Tots. These little guys are oh so easy to make and utterly FANTASTIC!

Sorry McDonald’s but this homemade version puts your McChicken sandwiches to shame! This homemade version is so much better! And there’s no weird ingredients in them either. No preservatives or chemical additives that nobody wants to eat anymore. Give this recipe a try, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to make these at home and how much tastier they are than the restaurant version! I’m lovin’ it!
