Debbie’s Delicious Dip

Every time I make this dip it reminds me of my good friend Debbie. This cheese spread was always on the table whenever she hosted a get together. It’s such a simple dip, with just a handful of ingredients but it is arguably one of the tastiest appetizers in my repertoire. Over the years I added some sour cream to the mixture just to loosen it up a little. The addition of sour cream keeps the dip soft enough so that crackers don’t break as easily when the scooping begins. I also bougie it up a little with a sprinkle of Everything But The Bagel (EBTB) seasoning. Not only does it give this dip a little extra pizzaz, it brings even more flavor to the party.

How To Make Debbie’s Delicious Dip:

Start by slicing up a bunch of green onions.

You may not be familiar with the next ingredient, Buddig, sliced, smoked beef. I find it at Walmart where they have all the refrigerated deli lunch meats. It’s smoky and tender, and inexpensive too.

Pull out the slices, stack them up and cut into small pieces.

Set aside the sliced green onions and chopped smoked beef.

Place 3 blocks of softened cream cheese in the bowl of a stand mixer.

Add the seasoned salt, and Worcestershire sauce to the bowl. Mix on medium speed until smooth and creamy.

Add the sliced green onions, the chopped beef, and sour cream to the bowl.

Mix on medium speed until everything is well combined, and looks like the picture below.

Spoon the mixture into a serving dish. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate.

Leftover-Makeover: Use leftover dip on a hot freshly baked potato. Talk about delicious! Sprinkle on some EBTB seasoning and you’ll never go back to eating a baked potato with just butter and sour cream ever again!

To serve dip, top with a generous sprinkle of Everything But The Bagel (EBTB) seasoning. Serve chilled with your favorite crackers, sliced bread or veggies.

I love that this cheese dip uses just a handful of ingredients. It can be made in advance; it actually tastes better if it hangs out in the fridge overnight. It’s super easy to make, and everyone that tries it loves it. It’s dog gone close to the perfect appetizer to bring to any summertime get together you’re invited to. Debbie always served this dip with Wheat Thin crackers but I love to serve this dip with Chicken in a Biskit crackers. It’s equally delicious spread on slices of sour dough bread. If you’re looking to go low carb, serve with fresh veggies like celery, carrots, or bell pepper. Let the scooping begin…

Debbies Delicious Dip

An easy to make ahead, flavorful cheese spread that's always a crowd favorite. Delicious served with either crackers, French bread or veggies.

Ingredients
  

  • 3 (8 oz) blocks cream cheese, softened
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp seasoned salt
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 (2 oz) packages sliced smoked beef, chopped
  • 1 bunch green onions, sliced
  • EBTB Everything But The Bagel seasoning, to garnish

To serve:

  • Chicken in a Biskit crackers
  • Wheat Thin crackers
  • Ritz crackers
  • French bread Baguette, sliced
  • assorted veggies, such as celery, carrots, or bell peppers, etc.

Instructions
 

  • Place softened cream cheese in the bowl of a mixer.
  • Mix on medium speed until smooth and creamy.
  • Add seasoned salt, and Worcestershire sauce to the bowl.
  • Mix to combine.
  • Add sliced green onions, chopped beef, and sour cream to the bowl.
  • Mix on medium speed until everything is well combined.
  • Spoon the mixture into a serving dish and top with a generous sprinkle of Everything But The Bagel (EBTB) seasoning.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate.
  • Serve chilled with your favorite crackers, sliced bread or veggies.
