How To Make Watermelon Shooters:

Watermelons are synonymous with summer. It just wouldn’t feel like summer without them. Learn how easy it is to turn an ordinary watermelon like this one into a tasty adult treat.

Start by cutting a watermelon into 1 inch logs, slices, or chunks. I cut the watermelon in half and then into 1 inch logs. You want as much surface area as possible so the watermelon can easily absorb the lime juice and tequila as it marinates. I also leave the rind on each of the pieces so you don’t need any utensils. Just grab a piece, hold it by the rind, and enjoy.

Place watermelon pieces and sliced limes in a large ziplock baggie.

Add tequila to the bag and seal the bag pressing out excess air.

Experiment with other liquors for different flavor profiles. Vodka or coconut rum would both be delicious options to try. No limes? No worries. Lemon or orange slices would also be delicious.

Marinate in the fridge for at least 1 hour to allow the watermelon to infuse and absorb the lime juices and tequila. Serve chilled.

These watermelon shooters are always a big hit when the dog days of summer are upon us. Easy to transport, and no glasses needed. Toss a bag in the ice chest and you’re good to go. Just grab a piece and enjoy. Summer doesn’t get much easier than this refreshing treat. Go on, you know you want to try it. I promise you’ll love it!
