Buttermilk Waffles

  • Waffle Iron

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 stick butter, melted

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl combine all the dry ingredients.
  • In another bowl combine wet ingredients.
  • Add wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined; it's ok if there are a few lumps in the batter. Batter will be very thick.
  • Preheat waffle iron. Spray with non stick cooking spray.
  • Place about ⅓ to ½ cup batter in the preheated waffle iron.
  • Cook waffles until cooked through and golden brown; about 3-4 minutes.
  • Serve with butter and pure maple syrup, or top with fresh strawberries or raspberries.
