Cinnamon French Toast

This French toast has a cinnamon flavor profile that is off the charts delicious! It's quick and easy to make so you can whip it up even on a busy weekday morning!

Ingredients
  

  • butter
  • 1 loaf thick sliced Brioche bread, 12 slices
  • 3 eggs
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • pinch nutmeg, freshly grated
  • Maple syrup, warmed

Instructions
 

  • Place eggs, milk, and vanilla in a large flat bottom bowl. Beat together until combined.
  • In another flat bottom bowl, combine cinnamon and sugar.
  • Add freshly grated nutmeg and stir to combine. Set aside.
  • Place a skillet over medium heat. Add a tablespoon of butter and allow it to melt.
  • Dip each slice of bread in the egg/milk mixture to coat both sides. Work quickly, avoid letting the slices of bread to sit in the egg mixture. Just dip them quickly to coat the outsides.
  • Fry in the skillet until golden brown. Flip and cook until golden brown on both sides.
  • Remove bread from the skillet and place it in the cinnamon sugar mixture. Spoon the cinnamon mixture onto the cooked French toast slices, coating them generously.
  • Serve with warm maple syrup and crisp bacon strips to round out the meal.
