Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Peel and dice potatoes into ½ inch cubes.
When oil is hot, add potatoes to the skillet and stir to coat them with the oil in the skillet. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring often until they begin to soften just slightly.
While the potatoes are cooking, dice the onion. Add diced onions to the skillet and stir to combine with the potatoes.
Slice the hotdogs and add them to the skillet. Stir to combine with the potatoes and onion.
Cook the mixture until potatoes are fork tender, the onions are translucent and hot dogs are heated through.
Add 2-3 tablespoons tomato sauce to the skillet. Stir to combine.
Add salt, pepper and garlic powder to the skillet.
Stir in ¼ cup water to make a tomato gravy. Add more water to reach desired consistency. Stir to combine all the ingredients together.
Cook until sauce reduces, potatoes are soft, and everything is hot and cooked through.
Serve meal hot.
