Sausage Hash Brown Breakfast Bake

Hash brown potato patties form the crust and are topped with eggs, cheese and savory breakfast sausage in this delicious breakfast bake. This one is a real crowd pleaser.

Equipment

  • 13x9 inch oven safe casserole dish

Ingredients
  

  • 8 frozen hash brown patties
  • 2 cups sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage links
  • 6 large eggs
  • cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp seasoned salt
  • ½ tsp dry mustard
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • sliced green onion, for garnish
  • hot sauce, optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350℉.
  • Cook breakfast sausages in a skillet over medium heat until cooked through and browned.
  • Slice sausages. Set aside
  • Grease a 13x9 inch oven safe casserole dish.
  • Place 8 hash brown Pattie’s in the bottom of the casserole dish.
  • Top with grated cheddar cheese. 
  • Sprinkle sausage slices evenly on top of the shedded cheese.
  • In a mixing bowl whisk together eggs, milk, salt, pepper and dry mustard.
  • Pour egg mixture evenly over casserole.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Remove foil and bake fat an additional 20 minutes until edges are lightly browned and center is set and no longer jiggly.
  • Remove from oven and allow casserole to sit for 10 minutes before serving.
  • Top with a dash of hot sauce and sliced green onions if desired.
