Combine black pepper, parsley flakes, oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, onion powder, garlic powder, rosemary and Kosher salt.

TIP: Use only dried herbs not fresh for the longest shelf life. This herb blend will keep for up to a year if stored at room temperature in an airtight container. When ready to serve, add freshly minced garlic to taste and a good quality olive oil.

To serve, place a tablespoon of seasoning mix in a shallow plate. Pour ¼ cup to ½ cup olive oil in the plate. Add minced garlic (to taste) and stir to combine all the ingredients together with the olive oil. We are garlic loving fools around here; I add 2 whole cloves of minced garlic for loads of garlicky goodness.

Allow the mixture to sit for a few minutes to allow the olive oil to infuse with the flavors of the freshly minced garlic, herbs and spices.

Serve with chunks of crusty French bread for dipping.

Delicious served with a nice bottle of red wine.

Store extra seasoning mix in an air tight container at room temperature.

For a lovely hostess gift, just tie a festive ribbon or jute twine on a glass jar and add a gift tag.

If you really want to wow guests, serve this dipping oil with an easy to make, no-knead loaf of freshly baked, Artisanal Crusty French Bread.

There’s something really special about baking your own bread. Is there anything better in life than pulling a loaf of bread out of the oven that you made completely from scratch? This easy no-knead recipe is a great one for beginners as well as more experienced bread bakers.  Just look at that perfect crust with the airy soft interior…it’s the perfect mop for this seasoned dipping oil!

Whip up this seasoning mix and when company calls serve it up with some crusty French bread to enjoy with that lovely bottle of wine your guests brought along. This dipping oil seasoning recipe makes enough to share, so you can send home a jar of the seasoning with your guests at the end of a lovely evening.
