Baked Sausage Tortellini Alfredo

I I have been working Calling all you pasta lovers out there! When you need a quick and easy meal, that’s both filling and delicious, this is the one you’ll want to prepare. It uses just a small handful of fresh ingredients and comes together on the stovetop in just a few short minutes. Adding sausage gives this dish some much needed protein and topping everything with a layer of Mozzarella cheese and toasting it in the oven till it’s hot and melty, seriously takes it over the top! Creamy, hearty, packed with flavor, and it takes only minutes to get on the table? This just might be a near perfect pasta meal. I never get any complaints with this dish except that someones pants are too tight after dinner…LOL!

How To Make Baked Sausage Tortellini Alfredo:

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add the tortellini and cook the pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside while you make the sauce.

While the pasta is cooking, melt 1 tablespoon butter in a cast iron skillet over medium heat.

Once the butter is melted add the sliced sausage and cook until browned. Remove from the pan with a slotted spoon and set aside. Keep warm.

I used a garlic sausage but you could use any sausage that you prefer. Italian sausage would also be delicious in this dish.

Add another tablespoon of butter to the pan. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine with the garlic and butter.

Once the mixture starts to simmer add the shredded Parmesan and Romano cheeses to the pan.

Stir and cook until cheese is melted and the sauce thickens slightly.

Stir in freshly grated nutmeg and pepper. Stir to combine.

Return the cooked sausage to the pan and stir to coat with the sauce and heat through.

Add the cooked, drained tortellini to the pan and stir to coat the pasta with the sauce.

Turn off heat and top pasta with a layer of shredded Mozzarella cheese.

Place the skillet in the oven and set oven temperature to “broil”. Cook until cheese is melted, bubbly and starting to brown along the edges.

Not too saucy, it’s just right!

Serve immediately with a crisp green salad and garlic bread.
