Why is it when you make something in a miniature version it just seems to be all the more tasty? These miniature Big Mac Sliders, or perhaps we should call them Mini Macs, are the perfect example. No matter what you want to call them they are oh so easy to make. It takes only 30 minutes from start to finish until you can stuff one, or two, or three, into your mouth, no judgement from me! I love that the sauce tastes EXACTLY like what you get on a Big Mac burger from McDonald’s, but because you make it yourself, you know exactly what’s in it. Making the sauce literally requires stirring together a handful of common ingredients, easy peasy! It contains no weird chemical additives or unpronounceable ingredients either. The cooking technique makes it super duper easy to whip up. No messy, greasy frying on the stovetop required. And if all that isn’t reason enough to try these sliders, I love the versatility of being able to serve them as either a fun appetizer but they are hearty enough to serve as an easy to make meal as well.

How To Make Big Mac Sliders:
Start by preheating the oven to 350℉.
Make beef patties:
While the oven is preheating, divide the ground beef into 12 equal sized portions. You can eyeball it or use a digital kitchen scale to measure out more precise portions. Just try to get them as close in size as possible so they cook up uniformly. Press each piece of ground beef into a 12 cup muffin tin.

Season the ground beef with some salt and pepper and top each patty with some finely minced onion.

Bake the beef patties for 20 minutes.

While the patties are in the oven, break each slice of American cheese into 4 pieces.

After 20 minutes in the oven, remove muffin tin from the oven and top each beef patty with two squares of American cheese (half a slice of cheese).

Return the muffin tin to the oven and bake an additional 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
Prepare Toppings:
While beef patties are baking in the oven, prepare the toppings; shred the lettuce, slice the pickles, and finely mince the onion.

Toast rolls:
Cut rolls in half.

Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat until melted.

I love, love, love my Cast Iron Round Griddle for toasting rolls! I use this griddle more than any other pan in my kitchen. It’s perfect for toasting rolls, making pancakes, or cooking up a cheesy quesadilla, or toasting just about anything! The low sides make it easy to get a spatula underneath foods and flip pancakes or grilled cheese sandwiches. It’s lighter than any of the other cast iron pans in my cupboard too. So if the weight of cast iron pans has kept you from getting one in the past, this griddle is the perfect one to get.

This Cast Iron Round Griddle is a real workhorse in my kitchen. It gets a ton of use! It’s my absolute favorite for making the lightest, fluffiest Buttermilk Biscuits like these! It’s easy to get mile high, light and fluffy Buttermilk Biscuits cooking them up in a Cast Iron Griddle. The versatility of being able to use this Cast Iron Griddle on the stovetop and in the oven, plus its durability makes it one of the most used pans in my arsenal of cookware. If you only buy one Cast Iron Pan for yourself, make it this one! I can honestly say it’s probably the best $20 I ever spent! It’s hard to pass up a pan that’s this versatile, durable and affordable!

Alright, let’s get back to our Mini Macs…toast the rolls in the buttered skillet until golden brown.

Make Special Sauce:
In a small bowl stir together mayonnaise, French salad dressing, minced onions, relish, vinegar, sugar, and salt until well combined. Set side.

SUBSTITUTION: If you don’t have all the ingredients needed to make the special sauce, you can substitute with bottled Thousand Island salad dressing for a similar flavor profile.
Assemble burger sliders:
Top the toasted rolls with special sauce, shredded lettuce, minced onion, and pickle slices.

Remove beef patties from the oven and top each prepared roll with a cheese topped beef patty.

Top the beef patties with the other half of the toasted buns. Serve immediately.

These little sliders are seriously da BOMB and cooking the beef patties in a muffin tin is genius! If you’re not a fan of Big Macs you can easily change it up to suit your tastes. Swap out the special sauce and use mustard and ketchup instead. Top the patties with cooked bacon bits instead of onions. Use Cheddar or Pepper Jack cheese instead of American cheese. Add lettuce and tomatoes for a more traditional bacon cheeseburger flavor profile. Try adding some avocado and sliced red onions and use spring greens instead of Iceberg lettuce. Just use your favorite burger toppings. You are only limited by your imagination when it comes to these tasty little sliders. You can easily recreate your favorite burger in miniature form. Let me know what you decide to use on your sliders!
