Make your bed every morning.
The simple act of making your bed everyday will elevate the look of your room and elevate our mood too.
It takes less than 5 minutes to make the bed but the effect it will have on your mood for the entire day is well worth the 5 minute investment of your time.
The bed is the largest horizontal surface in your bedroom, it occupies a large piece of the real estate in the room. If the bed is unmade it will make the whole room look messy and unkempt, even if everything else in the room is neat and tidy.
I fall into the “make the bed everyday” camp. Every time I walk into my bedroom during the day and see how pretty the bed looks it makes me smile. It most definitely elevates my mood!

Last Christmas I added a red plaid duvet set and a fun Pinecone embroidered pillow, to my existing bedding. A very inexpensive addition that I think gave the bed a wonderful Christmas vibe. It definitely says Christmas but without screaming Christmas.
I love Santa’s and reindeer, holly and ornaments; all the fun Christmas decor, but when you want your bedroom to be a calm and relaxing retreat, it’s nice to leave all the bling for the other rooms of the house.
I love the idea of functional decor. I much prefer decorating this way instead of filling every horizontal surface in a room with tchotchkes. Add in a few natural elements like a large basket filled with pinecones or a beautiful silver bowl filled with acorns and the room will be ready for the season without going over the top or looking like you tried to hard!
Today I’m challenging you to make your bed everyday and report back if it does indeed elevate your mood!
