Fresh Strawberry Sauce

Are you lucky enough to have strawberry stands everywhere selling fresh picked strawberries during the spring and summer months? Strawberry season is just starting to ramp up here in our area.

But what do you do with all of them? I love to whip up this easy to make, fresh strawberry sauce when strawberries are at their peak of sweetness during the warm spring and summer months.

No matter what you put this sauce on, it will taste great! Got an old pair of sneakers? Top them with some of this fresh strawberry sauce…ok, probably not my first choice, LOL.

More sauce please!

Actually, my personal favorite is to pour it over cheesecake for a truly decadent treat. The contrast between the creamy luscious cheesecake paired with the tangy brightness of this strawberry sauce makes for a happy dance in your mouth. It’s a really flavorful combination that your tastebuds will adore!

What makes this recipe so wonderful is that there is no cooking required! No need to heat up the stove to make this. All you need is a blender, 3 ingredients, and about 5 minutes of your time. Super easy peasy! You know what that means? More time to enjoy fun activities outdoors when the weather is nice!

I mean who wants to be slaving away cooking in a hot kitchen when the weather outside is gorgeous? Not me! But I do love to eat delicious food, cue this amazingly easy and tasty recipe!!!

In a blender combine a pint of strawberries with 1/2 cup of powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice and a tablespoon of lemon zest. Puree until smooth and store in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

That is one juicy lemon!

That’s it! Place the ingredients in a blender, puree until smooth and pour over your favorite confections.

Try this with French toast instead of maple syrup for a fresh twist on breakfast. It will turn ordinary French toast into something divine.

It’s equally delicious over sourdough waffles. Filling up all those waffle divots with this strawberry deliciousness makes for a divinely scrumptious breakfast. Add a little, or a lot of whipped cream…oh my! Ok maybe not everyday, but for a special occasion? Like Saturday is a special occasion right? LOL!

It’s wonderful with buttermilk pancakes too! Sunday is a special occasion too! ☺️ Right?

Or serve it over vanilla ice cream or greek yogurt for a truly scrumptious treat! Greek yogurt topped with this fresh strawberry sauce for breakfast will make even Monday’s not so awful! 👍🏻

No matter what you decide to serve it with, you are going to love its fresh tangy flavor.
