Boursin cheese is having a moment. I see it being used in so many different recipes everywhere online. I love the stuff but the store bought variety is full of chemical additives and preservatives that aren’t good for you, and it’s seriously expensive too! If you have a reasonably well stocked spice drawer you most likely have everything on hand to make this delectably, rich and creamy spread. Not only is it better for you, it comes together in just a few minutes and tastes even better than the store bought kind. Go get some cream cheese and mayo out of the fridge, grab some herbs and spices, and let’s make us some delicious homemade herbed cheese spread!

How To Make: A Copycat Herbed Boursin Cheese Spread
This easy to make cheese spread comes together quickly using dried herbs and minced garlic and tastes just like the store bought brand, only better and it has a much creamier, smoother texture.

Place all the ingredients in the bowl of a mixer.

UPDATE: This cheese spread was initially made using softened butter but the recipe has been updated and now calls for the addition of mayonnaise instead of butter. You can use either but the mayonnaise gives this spread a much smoother, richer flavor than the butter does.
Whip everything together on high speed using the whisk attachment on your mixer until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed. Taste and season with additional salt if needed.

Transfer spread to a dish. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours to allow flavors to combine.

Serve cheese spread chilled with crackers, or bread and your favorite veggies for scooping.

I love, love, love how easy and affordable this is to make. It costs just a fraction of what the brand name stuff will cost you, and it’s chock full of good for you flavorful herbs and garlic. This cheese spread will be making an appearance on many of my future charcuterie boards, it’s absolutely delicious and after one taste I know it will be the first thing devoured!

Let me know if you decide to give this easy to make cheese spread a try. I bet you won’t be able to tell the difference between this and the name brand stuff that costs an arm and a leg. Confession: I actually like this homemade version better than the store bought stuff.
