How To Make Stovetop Skillet Ravioli:

Using good quality convenience items like a jar of your favorite marinara sauce, frozen cheese ravioli, and grated cheeses makes getting this meal on the table quick and easy without sacrificing flavor.

Start by chopping up a medium onion. Honestly, this is the hardest part of making this dish!

Next, finely mince the garlic cloves.

I love, love, love this handy-dandy Garlic Mincer!!! It makes short work of finely mincing fresh garlic cloves. Just place the cloves in the bowl, top with the lid and twist back and forth a few times. Voila…in just a few seconds you’ll have all the finely minced garlic you need! I use this Garlic Mincer more than any other kind I have in my kitchen! This mincer allows you to mince loads of garlic in record time, and if you’re a garlic loving fiend like me, you are going to love this handy little kitchen gadget. And…it’s dishwasher safe too, gotta love that!

Look at all that lovely minced garlic!

Cook ground beef and chopped onion in a large skillet over medium heat, until onions are soft, breaking up the ground beef into small crumbles as it cooks.

When onions are soft and beef is cooked through drain off any excess grease.

Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Be sure to keep it moving around the pan so it doesn’t burn. Burnt garlic will give this dish an unpleasant bitterness, so keep a close eye on it.

Add marinara sauce to the skillet.

Fill glass marinara jar half full with water (about 12 oz). Shake it up to get all the remaining sauce in the jar.

Add the saucy water to the skillet, and stir to combine.

Add salt, pepper and Italian seasoning to the sauce.

Stir to combine.

Bring sauce to a simmer.

Once sauce simmers, add the cheese ravioli to the skillet.

Use a spatula or wooden spoon to move them around making sure they are covered with sauce.

Place a lid on the skillet and simmer ravioli for 15-20 minutes or until pasta is cooked al dente.

NOTE: Check pasta package directions to get an idea for how long to simmer the ravioli. Refrigerated pasta will take less time to cook than frozen pasta.

Occasionally stir sauce gently to prevent ravioli from sticking or burning on the bottom of the pan.

Once pasta is cooked, top with some grated Parmesan cheese.

Add a generous layer of grated Mozzarella cheese.

Place lid back on the skillet and lower heat to lowest setting.

Cook until cheese is melted, about 3-5 minutes.

If desired, top with chopped basil to serve.
