Cooking 101: It’s Easy To Make Whipped Cream

Are you guilty of using the whipped cream in the can? The kind that you can squirt right out of the can onto your desserts? No judgement on my part, we have all used it at some point. But did you ever take a look at the ingredients listed on the can?

What if I told you that you can “whip up” a batch of fresh whipped cream in about 2.5 minutes? Whipped cream that has only three ingredients and tastes about a thousand times better than anything that squirts out of a can.

Ok, are you ready? It’s ridiculously easy to make your own from scratch.

Pour 1 cup of heavy whipping cream into the bowl of your stand mixer.

PRO TIP: Chilling the bowl will produce an even lighter, fluffier whipped cream.

Shut the front door!

Add 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and 2-4 tablespoons of sugar. You get to decide how sweet you want your whipped cream to be.

Use the whisk attachment.

Turn your mixer to high and let it go until it turns to whipped cream. It will take a minute or two. Keep an eye on it. It will turn into butter if you whip it too long.

This is perfect! You are looking for nice soft peaks.

Spoon onto your favorite desserts! For a fancier presentation spoon whipped cream into a piping bag fitted with a piping tip.

Isn’t it amazing how anything that whipped cream touches is better because of it?

Raspberry crepes? Bring me some!!!

Whipped cream for breakfast? Yes please, if it tops a Belgium waffle.

Coffee and whipped cream? A marriage of flavors made in heaven.

Ice cream becomes a Sundae when you top it with whipped cream!

Yes, we can all agree that anything touched by whipped cream is better.

Might I recommend using it to make my personal favorite summertime dessert…Strawberry Shortcake?
