Easy Holiday Entertaining

The holiday season can be a busy time of year. The decorating, the shopping, the wrapping, the baking…add in entertaining and it can quickly get a bit crazy! So much to do with so little time to do it all!

Don’t let feeling overwhelmed stop you from entertaining during the holidays. It’s one of the best things about the season, spending time with family and friends. I have a few simple tips to share with you today that will make your table look extra special and only takes a few minutes to pull together.

Setting a beautiful table will elevate the occasion and make your guests feel extra special but it doesn’t have to be complicated or take an inordinate amount of time.

Get out some festive placemats or a holiday inspired table cloth. I use my everyday dishes to keep it simple. They work well with my holiday colors and make clean up a breeze since they can go right into the dishwasher after the meal.

Add stemware and napkins with napkin rings to each place setting and finish off the table with a pitcher of fresh flowers, a few candles and you are all set!

TIP: the dollar store is a great place to stock up on inexpensive stemware.

Don’t have any napkin rings? That’s when Mother Nature comes to the rescue. Don’t spend a fortune on overpriced napkin rings! Make your own instead. It’s so easy to make something really special with just a few items and a few pennies.

Grab your clippers and head outside to your garden and clip some Rosemary sprigs. If you don’t have a Rosemary bush you can snip any greenery that you have in your garden. Boxwood clippings would work and look just as lovely! Any woody stems will work.

Take a length of jute twine and tie it around a crisp white cloth napkin. Tie the jute twine into a pretty bow. Tuck a sprig of greenery from your garden and a cinnamon stick under the jute twine. Easy-peasy! Done and done!!

You can do this!

So pretty, yet so simple!

Go on, invite friends over for the holidays. Don’t stress over it! Keep it simple and enjoy some time with the ones that mean the most to you this holiday season!

It really can be this simple setting a pretty table that will impress your guests.
