Sure your could toss a frozen beef patty on the grill and call it dinner. What if I told you that you could easily make a burger at home that’s not only easy to make, but rivals any $15 gourmet burger from any upscale restaurant? At a fraction of the cost too!
Taking a few minutes to stir together an easy to make marinade yields an amazing difference in how juicy and flavorful this burger turns out. We’ve all marinated beef, chicken, and pork, but have you ever thought to marinate ground beef patties? Total game changer!!!
We love a good burger and we’ve been enjoying these Jalapeño Cheddar Stuffed Burgers all summer long. Instead of topping the patty with cheese, it’s on the inside!
If you’re looking for an easy, no fuss, no muss, burger this marinated burger is the one you are going to want to try tonight. Don’t let the long list of ingredients scare you off. They are all common ingredients that most home cooks with a well stocked pantry will surely have on hand.
Start by whisking together the marinade. In a small bowl whisk together; brown sugar, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, ground mustard, soy sauce, ginger, onion powder, seasoned salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, Worcestershire sauce, and minced garlic cloves. Set aside.
If using fresh ground beef, form beef into four quarter pound patties. Try not to overwork the meat. Press an indentation in the center of each patty with your fingers.
Place beef patties in a shallow dish.
Spoon the marinade onto each patty.
Move patties around in the pan to make sure each patty is coated with the marinade.
Cover and place beef patties in the fridge.
Turn patties over after a couple of hours and return to the fridge until ready to grill them.
Remove meat patties from the fridge and allow them to come to room temperature, about 30 minutes. Preheat barbecue grill to medium heat, about 325°-350°.
Coat grill grates with vegetable oil.
Grill burgers for 7-9 minutes per side over medium heat.
Resist the urge to press down on the patties while they cook. Pressing down on them will squeeze out all the juices. Just set them on the grill and let them cook. Resist the urge to smash them with that spatula!
Top each patty with cheese and continue to cook burgers until cheese is melted, about another 2-3 minutes.
Toast buns on the grill until golden brown alongside the beef patties as they are cooking.
Top toasted buns with a beef patty and serve with your favorite burger fixins.
Round out the meal and serve up a side of this Creamy Dreamy Potato Salad with your burgers.
A huge shout out to Saving Room for Dessert for this fantastic burger recipe!!! I never would have thought to marinate ground beef patties. Total game changer!!!
