Ham & Cheese Pita Pizzas, An Easy To Make Leftover Makeover

It just wouldn’t seem like Thanksgiving or Christmas without a holiday ham gracing the table. There are so many wonderful ways to use up leftover ham.

My favorite is to use the ham hock to make a pot of creamy, delicious homemade Split Pea soup. It’s a tradition at our house to have this soup after Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Ham sandwiches are a perennial favorite and also an easy and tasty way to eat up leftovers. To be honest, after a solid week or more of ham sandwiches it sure is nice to find another way to enjoy some of that leftover ham.

Cue these ham and cheese pita pizzas. So easy to make and utterly delicious to eat. They take just a few short minutes to make and they are a delightful alternative to yet another sandwich.

Preheat oven to 350°.

Grate some cheddar and mozzarella cheese.

Place pita bread rounds on a cookie sheet in a single layer and spread a generous tablespoon of Alfredo sauce onto each pita.

Top with cheddar and mozzarella cheeses.

Divide ham evenly among prepared pitas and top with chopped green onions.

Bake for 10-15 minutes, until cheese is melted and hot.

Turn on broiler and toast until cheese is golden brown.

These little pizzas were very, very tasty. The Alfredo sauce was the perfect creamy sauce instead of marinara. The whole family loved them.

Serve immediately.
