It’s oh so very easy to make a refreshingly flavorful mango salsa using just 5 ingredients and five minutes of your time. It’s the perfect summertime appetizer; it’s not spicy and not too sweet either. Whether you’re scooping it up with some crunchy tortilla chips or spooning it over freshly grilled fish or shrimp, the fresh flavors enhance just about any thing you choose to serve it up with. Simple to make, tastes delicious, and it’s good for you too. That makes it an almost perfect accompaniment to just about any summertime meal you’re serving up.
Jump to RecipeStart by peeling mangos using a vegetable peeler. A vegetable peeler makes quick work of this. During the colder winter months when fresh mangos are not available, you could certainly use frozen mango chunks, but for the best results using fresh mangos will produce the freshest flavor.
If you’ve never worked with fresh mangos, just be aware that they have a rather large center stone and you will have to cut the mango flesh away from the center stone.
Carefully cut mango flesh away from the center seed and cut the flesh into bitesized chunks.
Place mango chunks in a mixing bowl.
Chop fresh tomato into bite sized chunks, roughly chop fresh cilantro and dice the red onion.
Add diced red onion, chopped cilantro and tomato pieces to the bowl with the mango chunks.
Juice the limes and add the lime juice to the bowl with the other ingredients.
Stir to combine everything together.
Serve with tortilla chips. Also delicious spooned over your favorite grilled seafoods such as grilled fish or grilled shrimp. Store any extras, covered, in the fridge for up to a week.
Oh my goodness, this salsa is DELICIOUS!!! Our favorite way to indulge is to scoop it up with crunchy tortilla chips. The summer sweetness pairs beautifully with the crispy, salty chips. Absolutely delectable! You’ll be shoveling it in scoop, after scoop, after scoop! Give this healthy, easy to make recipe a try, you’re going to love it! I promise!
