How To Make The World’s Best Steak Marinade

I do a lot of research online, not only looking for tasty recipes to try, but for inspiration as well. Plus I’m kind of a food nerd, I actually enjoy reading cookbooks and recipes. Can anyone relate? When I came across this recipe posted by Kookie on Allrecipes.com claiming it was the world’s best steak marinade, it piqued my interest and I decided to give it a try to see if the claim was actually true. It has over 3400 five star ratings so it should be pretty darn good. But world’s best? That’s a pretty tall order if you ask me. Let’s make this and find out for ourselves. Are you ready to give this a try?

I picked up some New York steaks that were on sale and decided to use them with this marinade.

Let’s face it, with the price of beef these days, you want a marinade that’s really going to be good and enhance the flavor of the beef. Let’s see if this marinade stands up to Kookie’s claim of being the world’s best marinade, shall we?

It’s easy enough to toss it together. I love that it uses common ingredients.

If you have a well stocked panty and fridge you will most likely have all the ingredients on hand. No extra trip to the market to purchase a little used, expensive ingredient. Gotta love that. So far, no complaints from me.

In a small bowl combine, garlic powder, dried basil, parsley flakes, pepper, soy sauce, olive oil, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and minced garlic. Set aside. Pretty straightforward so far.

Rinse steaks under cold running water and pat dry with a paper towel. You can skip this step if you are on the “don’t wash meat” bandwagon. To wash or not to wash; it’s totally up to you. Do what makes you happy.

Use a fork and pierce steaks all over, on both sides. This helps to tenderize the meat and allows the marinade to soak deeper into the steaks.

Place steaks in a 1 gallon plastic ziplock bag.

Add the marinade to the bag.

Seal bag, pushing out excess air, and refrigerate for up to 8 hours or as long as overnight. I marinated these steaks overnight.

Grill steaks to your desired doneness over medium heat. Steaks can be grilled on the barbecue or pan fried on the stove in a large cast iron skillet. Both cooking methods will produce excellent results. For the best tasting and juicy steaks cook them to a medium rare or medium doneness, about 7-8 minutes per side. The length of time it takes to cook depends on the thickness of the steaks you have. Keep a close eye on them so you don’t overcook them.

Hubs loves him some pepperoncini peppers!

The verdict? We loved, loved, loved this marinade! It has a savory tanginess that really enhances the flavor of the steaks. Is it the world’s best marinade? We gave it a solid 8 out of 10! Will I be using it again in the future? You bet I will!!!

I love that this recipe uses ingredients I always have on hand and it gave these New York steaks an amazing flavor! A BIG thank you to Kookie for sharing this recipe! I can most definitely recommend this marinade!

Surprise dad for Father’s Day and grill up some juicy, flavorful steaks marinated in this delectably delicious marinade. I promise you’ll get no complaints. It will appeal to all the meat and potato lovers in your life, guaranteed!

Now that’s a good looking piece of meat!
