I’m betting they will quickly become one of your favorite go to sandwiches. If you are looking for a satisfying, beefy, quick and easy meal that you can get on the table in under 30 minutes, these sandwiches fit the bill.

Tender strips of beef with grilled onions, crisp tender bell peppers and melty Provolone cheese all sandwiched between a crusty hoagie roll. Does a grilled sandwich get any better than this?

Because there are only a handful of ingredients needed for these sandwiches, for the best tasting sandwiches, it’s important to use the freshest high quality ingredients you can get your hands on.

Start by prepping all the ingredients. Once the grill is hot the ingredients cook up very quickly and you won’t have time to slice and dice anything. You want everything prepped and ready to toss onto the grill when it’s time.

Use freshly baked hoagie rolls. It’s worth the effort of stopping at the market to pick up some freshly baked rolls! We have a Sprouts market in town and they bake fresh rolls everyday. They are crunchy on the outside, with a good chew, and soft and fluffy on the inside. Perfect for these Sammies!

Slice the hoagie rolls in half horizontally, but don’t cut all the way through the roll. and spread butter onto the cut sides of each roll. Set aside.

Slice onion. Set aside.

Seed and slice green bell pepper. Set aside.

Slice sirloin steak into ¼ inch thick strips.. Set aside.

Preheat grill over medium heat.

Place hoagie rolls onto the grill, with the cut/buttered sides down. Cook until toasted and lightly browned. Remove toasted rolls from the grill and set aside.

Add a couple tablespoons butter to the hot grill. Add sliced onion and cook until soft, translucent and beginning to brown. Remove onion from the grill, set aside.

Add another tablespoon of butter to the grill. Add the green bell pepper slices and cook for 1-2 minutes until crisp tender. Remove from the grill, set aside.

Add another tablespoon butter to the grill. Add the sliced beef strips to the grill.

Season beef strips generously with salt, pepper and onion powder as they cook.

Cook beef to medium rare doneness tossing the strips as they cook.

Return sliced onions and peppers to the grill and toss with the beef strips.

Move beef/onion/peppers on the grill to create three long even piles of the meat/onion/pepper mixture.

Top each pile with slices of cheese and cook until cheese melts and the beef forms a nice almost burnt crust on the grill.

Top each pile with a hoagie roll, toasted sides down.

Use spatula to scoop up the filling and transfer the sandwiches onto a plate flipping them over so the filling is on top.

Serve sandwiches while they are nice and hot and cheese is melty and stretchy and gooey and oh so very good!

Such a quick and easy, simple method for cooking up some super tasty Sammies. Only the grill to clean up when you are done cooking. I love, love, love this quick and easy method for cooking Philly Cheese Steak Sandwiches. They are in our regular rotation more often than I care to admit, they’re that good! No-one ever complains when I serve up these tasty Sammies for dinner.
