These Meatball Sliders Have A Cheesy Surprise In Every Gooey Bite

These cheesy little sliders are perfect when you get a hankering for something with all your favorite Italian flavors that’s both easy to make and delicious. Do you typically skip over recipes that require making meatballs from scratch? It can be time-consuming to make them; first you have to make them, then fry them and then bake them. Let’s face it, there are so many delicious frozen Italian meatballs to choose from that make getting a meal on the table a snap.

There’s a lovely cheesy surprise inside these meatballs!

This recipe does require making the meatballs from scratch, but they go directly into the oven to bake. There is no pan frying needed. Not only does it make these meatballs healthier, but it significantly cuts down on the time needed to make them. The oven does all the work for you with this tasty easy to make recipe.

Don’t believe me? Keep reading to see just how easy they are to make!

Preheat the oven to 350°F.

Start by grating some, ok a lot, of Parmesan cheese. Freshly grated is best but you can certainly use the pre-grated variety if that’s what you have on hand.

Cut Mozzarella cheese sticks into 12 equally sized pieces. Set aside.

Place ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (or a little more), salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder in a large mixing bowl and combine. I use my hands but you could certainly do this in a stand mixer if you prefer.

Divide the beef mixture into 12 equal sized portions.

Flatten each pice of beef and shape it into a patty.

Place a piece of Mozzarella cheese in the center and form beef around the piece of cheese.

Roll into a ball, enclosing the cheese completely inside the beef.

Place meatballs in an oven safe baking dish, leaving some space in between them.

Top the meatballs with marinara sauce.

Bake for 45 minutes or until completely cooked through.

Don’t worry if some cheesy goodness oozes out.

To serve, slice rolls in half. Place a meatball on each roll and top with some marinara sauce and grated Parmesan cheese.

DELISH!

These cheesy, saucy, little sliders are absolutely PHENOMENAL!!! I love how quick and easy they are to make. The entire family gobbled them up! You get a lovely bite of gooey, stretchy melted Mozzarella cheese in every delectable bite. I highly recommend these! They were perfect for dinner served with a crisp tossed green salad, but they are also a lovely appetizer to serve up to guests. Make sure you make more than you think you will need, they disappear quickly!
