How To Make The Tenderest, Oven Roasted, Barbecue Beef Brisket

The heat of summer is slowly loosening its grip and cooler temps are drawing us outdoors to enjoy the last of the mild Indian summer evenings before the cold of winter sets in and evening meals will all be eaten indoors. It’s easy to lure the family to the table with this easy to make slow cooked, oven roasted barbecue beef brisket when it’s the star of the meal. Serve it up with a couple delicious sides and you’ve got the makings of a memorable evening under the stars. It’s surprising how good this brisket is and how little effort that’s required to produce one of the tastiest barbecued main dishes you can serve up! Good food and laughter with those you love the most at the table make time spent in the kitchen all worthwhile.

Preheat oven to 300℉.

Mix all the spices together in a small bowl; paprika, salt, pepper, thyme, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper and cumin. 

Rub spice mixture onto the surface of the brisket to cover it completely with the spice rub. Place seasoned brisket (fat side up) in an oven safe baking dish.

Stir together the Worcestershire sauce and BBQ sauce.

Spread sauce over the seasoned brisket.

Cover pan tightly with foil. Bake for 2 hours.

Remove pan from oven and flip brisket over. Cover pan tightly with foil and return to the oven.

Bake for another 2 hours, or until beef is tender and slices easily.

Remove brisket from the oven and allow it to rest on a cutting board for 10 minutes before slicing it.

Cut brisket against the grain into slices and serve it with the juices from the pan.

  • oven safe baking dish large enough to hold the beef brisket

Ingredients
  

  • 4 lb beef brisket, trim off excess fat leaving about a ¼ an inch
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 2 tsp Kosher salt
  • 2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper
  • ¼ tsp cumin
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce
