To make the Linguini with Clam Sauce start by cooking the pasta al dente, according to the package directions.
While the pasta is cooking, it’s time to prepare the clam sauce.
Heat oil in a large skillet. Once oil is hot, add minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Stir and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Drain clam juice from canned chopped clams and set aside.
Add wine and reserved clam juice from the two cans of clams to the skillet.
Increase heat, and bring mixture to a boil. Simmer for about 5 minutes, until sauce is reduced by about half.
Add freshly cracked pepper, chopped clams and lemon juice. Heat through.
Add drained, cooked linguini to the sauce in the pan and toss to coat.
Give it a taste and season with salt and additional pepper if needed.
Serve topped with a sprinkle of fresh chopped parsley.
Grow your own herb garden so you always have fresh parsley on hand when you need it for a recipe. Parsley is one of the easiest herbs to grow. Even if you have never grown anything from seed and you think you have a black thumb, you can easily grow parsley.
