Quick & Easy, Extra Cheesy Garlic Breadsticks

I am a lover of all things bread…and cheese…and garlic…Whether its a freshly baked, made from scratch sour dough loaf that takes several hours to make, to these breadsticks using refrigerated pizza dough that take under 30 minutes to get onto the table…I love it all!!!

Let’s be real, can we? Sometimes we just haven’t planned ahead nor do we always have the time or the energy to spend several hours making a loaf of bread from scratch to serve with dinner. Sometimes we just want us some delicious carbs; something that’s easy to make and fulfills our carb cravings. These breadsticks fit the bill perfectly!

There’s no shame in using refrigerated pizza dough.

A freshly baked, made from scratch sour dough loaf of bread ranks up there as one of the most delicious things in the world to eat. I must confess that these easy to make breadsticks rank pretty darn high on the list of my favorite breads! I love how easy they are to make and that means I can serve them up with all of my favorite meals.

The next time you are at the market, pick up some refrigerated pizza dough so you can bake up a batch of these cheesy breadsticks. I stumbled upon this recipe at 1strecipes.com and as soon as I saw it, I knew I had to make it. Boy am I glad I did!!! I wish the website noted the individual that submitted this awesome recipe…whoever you are…THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

Start by preheating your oven to 425°F.

Melt the butter and stir in the minced garlic to combine.

Roll out the pizza dough onto a cookie sheet, a baking stone or baking steel. Brush the pizza dough with melted butter/garlic mixture.

Sprinkle salt, pepper, and dried basil onto the dough.

Cover the dough with an even layer of Mozzarella cheese and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.

Use a pizza cutter to cut the dough into long thin strips but do not pull apart or separate the strips.

Bake for 10-12 minutes or until breadsticks are starting to brown.

TIP: Adjust oven temperature and bake time to the baking instructions for the pizza dough you are using if different.

Once breadsticks are cooked through, switch oven temperature to broil and toast breadsticks until cheese is bubbly and golden brown. Keep a close eye on it so it doesn’t burn.

Remove from oven and use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to recut the strips and separate breadsticks.

These breadsticks are the perfect side served with any of your favorite Italian dishes. I love to serve these breadsticks with my Dad’s Delicious Spaghetti & Meat Sauce Recipe. Add this Rich & Creamy Caesar Salad to round out the meal. This combo is one of my all time favorite weeknight meals. You really can get a scrumptious, home cooked meal on the table in 30 minutes that your whole family will love!

Ten bucks says you won’t have any leftovers. Not a single breadstick. You can’t eat just one, or two, or three of these delectable breadsticks. Go on, I dare you to try!
