Quick & Easy Stovetop Sautéed Garlic Mushrooms

Mushroom, mushrooms…how I love thee let me count the ways! I have to confess, I have an obsession with mushrooms. I love them!!! Whether fried, sautéed, baked, grilled, stuffed; I love them on pizza, in omelets, added to soups, stews, salads, in a quiche, added to burgers, on top of steaks or pork chops. There honestly isn’t a mushroom that I don’t love! I add them to almost everything I possibly can.

Did you know that there are many health benefits associated with mushrooms? Mushrooms are an excellent source of Zinc, an essential trace element that is a vital nutrient for a strong immune system. They are also an excellent source of Vitamin D. Bet you didn’t know that.

They’ve been shown to have an anti-inflammatory effect that greatly improves the efficiency of your immune system. Research has found that mushrooms help stimulate microphages in your immune system, which enhances your body’s ability to defeat foreign bodies, making you less susceptible to serious illnesses.

How awesome is that? My doctor recommended taking Zinc and Vitamin D to help fight Covid. I don’t know about you but eating a delicious food to help build a strong immune system during a pandemic is a delicious way to strengthen your immune system and keep you safe. A very good thing to have in your arsenal!

This simple, tasty recipe makes it ,oh so easy, to get some good for you mushrooms into your diet. Typically I just sauté them in butter, add a little salt and pepper and call it good. They are absolutely delicious cooked up in this simple manner. But when you are blessed with fresh garden herbs it’s easy to take them over the top with these garlic mushrooms! The list of ingredients is short, but combined…they pack a punch of flavor that you are going to love!

Start by prepping mushrooms. Look for the largest button or Cremini mushrooms you can get your hands on. Trim off the stems and wash mushrooms under cold water to remove any dirt.

Gorgeous!!!

Heat 1 tablespoon butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Add red pepper flakes to the skillet.

Add the mushrooms to the skillet and sauté them until they release their liquid. It will take about 8-10 minutes. This intensifies their mushroomy flavor and goodness in every delectable bite.

Push mushrooms to the sides of the skillet and add 1 tablespoon butter and the minced garlic to the center of the pan. Sauté garlic until fragrant, about 30 seconds.

Add white wine to deglaze the pan.

Scrape up the browned bits in the bottom of the skillet. Continue to cook, stirring often until most of the liquid cooks off.

Stir together the mushrooms with the butter wine sauce to coat and combine with the mushrooms.

Add salt, pepper, freshly chopped basil and freshly chopped parsley.

Fresh herbs are best but you can use dried if that’s all you have on hand.

Stir to combine.

Serve. DEVOUR!!!

Hands down, these are some of the best mushrooms I have ever eaten! Give this recipe a try, I think you will love them as much as do.
